Terms & conditions

These terms apply to removals and storage services provided by Nottinghamshire Removals. By booking with us you agree to them. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Quotes and bookings

We provide a written quote based on the information you give us about your move. A quote is valid for thirty days from its date. If what we find on the day differs materially from what was described — additional items, poorer access, greater distance — we may need to revise it, and we will speak to you before doing so. Your booking is confirmed once you accept the quote and we agree a date.

2. Deposits and payment

We may request a deposit to hold your date. Where a deposit is paid and you cancel, it is refundable if you cancel within fourteen days of paying it, subject to the notice terms below. The balance is due on or before completion of the move unless we agree otherwise in writing.

3. Changes and cancellation

If you need to change or cancel, please tell us as early as you can. Cancelling well ahead of your booked date lets us re-let the slot and keeps any charge to a minimum. Cancellations close to the date, once crew and vehicles are committed, may attract a charge, which we will always explain first.

4. Your goods

You are responsible for ensuring everything to be moved is ready and accessible, and for telling us about anything fragile, valuable or awkward — including pianos and similar items. Some things we cannot carry, such as hazardous materials, perishable food and living plants or animals over distance. If in doubt, ask us in advance.

5. Insurance and claims

We carry goods-in-transit and public liability insurance and handle your belongings with care. In the unlikely event of loss or damage, please report it to us in writing within seven days of delivery so we can investigate and, where appropriate, put it right. Please keep the affected items and their packaging until the claim is resolved.

6. Storage

Where we store your goods, charges are agreed in advance for the agreed period. Goods remain your property; we ask that stored goods are insured and that your contact details are kept current so we can reach you.

7. International moves

For moves outside the UK you are responsible for providing accurate information for customs and for any duties or taxes charged at the destination. We prepare the documentation we handle and advise on what is required. Transit times depend on route, customs clearance and consolidation scheduling, and your quote will describe what to expect.

8. Liability

Our liability is limited to the terms of our insurance cover and to direct loss or damage caused by our negligence. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
